The biggest compliment that anyone could give me is to rave to their friends about their boudoir experience with me. The majority of my clients find me through their friends, who also happen to be clients of mine. That's how Miss T found out about my Saratoga boudoir studio. She was out to dinner with a friend, who I happened to photograph (who also heard about me through another friend who I photographed). At first, she wasn't so sure about the idea; however, after some encouragement from her husband, she took a leap and booked her boudoir photo shoot with me.
I often get messages from clients who are struggling to find that one last outfit to round out their boudoir looks. My advice? When all else fails, wear nothing at all! Too scared to bare it all? Have no fear, it's my job as a boudoir photographer to make sure that all of the things that you want hidden in your images stay hidden.
We're near the end of my What to Wear series, and today, I'm talking about bridal looks. As you may know, bridal boudoir season is in full swing here at Cheeky Boudoir in Ballston Spa, NY. While my brides love to bring a variety of different outfits to their boudoir photo shoots, almost everyone brings in at least one white or off-white lingerie set for a bridal look. I love that because it serves as a reminder of the time of their life that they're choosing to do their boudoir session!
When consulting my clients on what to wear for their boudoir photo shoots, I always suggest that they try something super-sexy for one of their sets. Even if it may be out of your comfort zone, this may be an experience that you only do once (although, boudoir can be addicting!), and you'll want to make the most of it. So, why not go all out and tune into your inner supermodel? I love lace (I'm particularly drawn to eyelash lace!), I love caged pieces, and I love suspenders!
You’d be surprised at the number of clients that come to me that tell me that they don’t own lingerie (aside from your basic bra and panty sets for everyday use) and have no clue what to wear for their shoot. It could be for a variety of reasons. Some women don’t want to fuss with straps and hooks. Some women feel it’s pointless because the lingerie is going to come off anyway. Then there are some women that just don’t feel comfortable in lingerie. They’re all perfectly valid reasons. When you’re starting from scratch, my first piece of advice is to choose pieces that you can feel comfortable in. Boudoir Wardrobe Inspiration: A Cozy Cardigan & Knee-high Socks I love this set because not only is it super-cute, but it’s something that almost anyone can feel comfortable in. If your midsection is an area of concern, a cardigan is the perfect way to hide it. Additionally, the cardigan and socks combo give your hands an opportunity to not be idle during your shoot. Buttoning and unbuttoning the sweater, shrugging the sweater off your shoulders, pulling the socks on, or pulling the socks off. It all makes for a great […]
It’s April and it’s snowing outside. Not just a little snow either. We have a good 5 inches of snow in our backyard right now. So, to warm things up a bit (okay, A LOT), I’m going to finally share the images from Miss D’s boudoir shoot that was photographed here in my private Saratoga boudoir photography studio! Sometimes, the toughest part of planning your boudoir photo shoot is trying to figure out what to wear for your shoot. Here at Cheeky, I offer session options that allow for 4-8 different wardrobe changes. This gives my clients the room for a wide variety of looks in their final images. So, to give you a bit of inspiration, over the next 5 days, I’ll be featuring a little bit of Miss D’s boudoir shoot and the different looks she chose for her session! Boudoir Wardrobe Inspiration: Black Bra & Panty Set For her first set, Miss D wore a lovely black longline bra and panty set by Blush Lingerie. Because of its simplicity, I wanted to create images that evoked a sense of mystery and freedom. To achieve this, I photographer her in almost a voyeuristic fashion. Throughout this set, I […]
The best part of my job is meeting a great variety of women from all over the New York Capital Region in various stages of their lives. From women just gaining their independence, to women who are embarking on a shared life with their partner, to women who are finding themselves again after 50. The stories that are shared in my boudoir photography studio really build a connection between my clients and myself that help me bring out their personalities in their photographs.
This is Miss L, 47-year-old mother, wife, and adventure seeker. When she first contacted me, she was concerned and wanted to make sure her photoshoot was age-appropriate. My reaction? Sensuality is appropriate for ANY age! I told her that unless there were any physical limitations, I could photograph her just as I would someone that was 27. Needless to say, I think she absolutely NAILED her boudoir shoot.
There really is no one way to do bridal boudoir, nor should there be as everyone's style is unique to them. I have brides that like to go all out with white or off-white lingerie with jeweled "Bride" embellishments. I also have brides that like to keep their wardrobe fun and flirty, catered to their grooms' tastes. THEN I have brides that like to really turn up the heat with super-sexy lingerie choices. Whatever your personality, here at Cheeky Boudoir, we can create a gift for your groom that he'll never forget.
Nothing excites me more than when my clients walk through my doors with a Torso bag (or 2!) in their hands. For me, it's a feeling akin to Christmas morning as a child. Luckily for me, this kind of holiday happens on a regular basis.
